CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)

The Leptos Group implements a wide range of social and cultural actions aimed at supporting the local community and improving the quality of life, such as:

  • Voluntary blood donations, in collaboration with the Iasis Private Hospital, a member of the Group. The Group’s Blood Bank has been operating for over 25 years.
  • Scholarships and financial support through Neapolis University Paphos (NUP) that support the young generation, with more than 5,000 aid provisions to students, to date.
  • Counseling Centre for Research and Psychological Services (S.K.E.P.S.I) of Neapolis University Pafos – The Centre provides relevant free assessment, diagnosis and support services to the public, in a variety of issues.
  • Establishment and operation of the Human Rights Observatory of Neapolis University with the ultimate aim of promoting and protecting human rights in the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Financial support to charitable and cultural organizations and sponsorships for events in Cyprus and Greece.
  • Sponsorships to cultural associations such as the Folklore Club <<AFRODITE>> of Yeroskipou
  • Sponsorships to sports institutions: Water polo and swimming championships, Arena 4 Day Challenge, PAEEK FC, running competitions, athletes participating in beach volleyball tournaments in Greece and other sports events.
  • Support of local festivals: Paphos Beer Festival, Paphos Street Festival, Christmas Villages, One Love Festival Cyprus etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL & SOCIAL GOVERNANCE (ESG)

The Leptos Group has been honored with important distinctions for the sustainable development practices it applies in its activities:

  • Awarded with the “Golden Certificate Award” for the prudent management of construction and demolition waste in its projects
  • Collaboration with OAK (Federation of Cyprus Architects) in the effort to preserve the natural and built environment of Cyprus.
  • Upgrading of the Group’s infrastructure based on international sustainability standards (e.g. energy efficiency, reduction of pollutants, recycling).
  • Tree planting actions in collaboration with local authorities.
  • Implementation of environmental policies in hotel and construction units, with the aim of reducing the ecological footprint.

INFRASTRUCTURE & RESTORATION PROJECTS

Initiatives for the creation, improvement, and restoration of infrastructure:

  • The founder of the group, Michael G. Leptos, was honored by the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the design of the gardens of the patriarchy.
  • Donation of a residential plot to the Municipality of Yeroskipou for the expansion of the Kato Vrysi Park
  • Creation of the Apostle Paul Museum in Pafos.
  • Restoration of fire-affected areas (Kyrenia- Achaia, Greece).
  • Restoration/repair of a church in the community of Fre, Chania.
  • Contribution for the illumination of neoclassical buildings in Pafos.
  • Financial support for the construction of the Petrideion Foundation Building.
  • Planting and landscaping of green spaces in collaboration with local authorities.
  • Design and supervision of the construction of the Margarita Liasidou Foundation.

INTERNAL CORPORATE FRAMEWORK

In addition to the environmental footprint, the Group systematically implements and strengthens the principles of social responsibility and corporate governance through organized and transparent practices:

  • Appointed Health & Safety Officer for the protection of the staff at all levels.
  • Implementation of diversity and inclusion policies during recruitment and across the leadership of the Group.
  • Establishment of a misconduct management committee with emphasis on sensitive issues
  • Ensuring the protection of personal data and cybersecurity measures, in accordance with GDPR standards.
  • Independence of the Board of Directors in CSE-listed companies, with the participation of Non-Executive Directors (NEDs).
  • Establishment of an Audit Committee to the Board of Directors.
  • Organisation of Awareness Day events such as International Women’s Day, Cancer Awareness Day, and other key observances.
  • Establishment of a Tender Committee to ensure a transparent procurement and cooperation process
  • Internal Audit Department, which ensures effective risk management and compliance with the Group’s policies.
  • Establishment and distribution of a Code of Conduct to all staff, with active education and training programs on ethical and professional behavior.
