Cyprus and Bahrain Sign Four Bilateral Agreements

Cyprus and Bahrain have signed a series of cooperation agreements, in the framework of President Nicos Anastasiades’ official visit to the Arab country.

According to a Cyprus Press and Information Office statement, Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed a bilateral agreement on the avoidance of double taxation with Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance of Bahrain. Kasoulides also finalised agreements on: fighting terrorism and organised crime with Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice of Bahrain; air service with Kamal Ahmed, Minister of Transportations and Telecommunications; and cooperation in the field of health with Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi, Minister of Health.

Earlier, President Anastasiades met with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (pictured above), following which the delegations of the two countries held official talks at the Palace in Manama. Issues regarding the Cyprus problem, bilateral relations, EU-Bahrain ties, regional and international matters and the economy were discussed. Anastasiades is expected to return to Cyprus on March 10.
