UK holidaymakers will find that Cyprus continues to offer one of the best value for money breaks during 2018 according to the 10th annual Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer from Post Office Travel Money.
Paphos in Cyprus continues to hold on to its sixth place ranking – its highest position on the Top Ten list of European destinations. Overall Cyprus is in eighth place on the Top Ten Worldwide destinations list of best value for money resorts.
The UK Post Office annual Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer highlights destinations where the holiday purse will stretch furthest. This year it shows that value for money will be a crucial commodity with European destinations dominating the world list taking eight of the top ten best value spots.
The Holiday Costs Barometer gathers data from around the world on eight of the most common holiday buys, enabling visitors to see how various destinations measure up. Researchers looked at the costs of a cup of coffee, a bottle of local beer, a can/bottle of cola, a bottle of mineral water, a glass of wine, suncream, insect repellent and finally a three course meal for two inc wine to complete the tourist basket.
The total purchase price for the above in Paphos when converted to Sterling was £57.72 up slightly from the total of £53.03 in 2017.
