A recent survey points out the comparative costs of living between four of Cyprus’ largest cities: Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos. Taking into account several necessary expenses one needs to live from day to day, the survey includes, amongst others, the costs of dining out, supermarkets, monthly expenses, sports and leisure, renting and buying property, tuition fees (public and private), for a family of four.
Conclusions:
• With rent included, a family of four in Limassol needs an average of €3,207.53 per month to maintain the same standard of living as someone who spends €2,900 per month (inclusive of rent) in Nicosia.
• With rent included, one needs approximately €2,660.71 per month to acquire the same quality of life, as one would enjoy with €2,500.00 per month in Paphos.
• Overall, the cheapest city to live in Cyprus is Paphos, with the most expensive being Limassol largely due to the high costs of rent and housing. Nicosia is in second place, with Larnaca following directly after in third.
• The cheapest city to purchase property is in Larnaca, whereas Paphos is favourable for its affordable rental prices.
• The cheapest city in terms of dining out and supermarkets is Paphos.
