Mr. Pantelis Leptos, Director of Leptos Group, announced the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) 2011 that was held in Paphos was concluded on Sunday with the victorious Andreas Mikkelsen of Norway racing a Skoda Fabia. This year’s IRC that was held on our island, was one of the most difficult and demanding Rally in the world and there was a total of 34 crews participating.
Misfortunate of this Rally was last years winner Cyprus Rally Champion from Qatar,Nasser Al-Attiyah. Nasser maintained a steady second position behind Mikkelsen with a difference of 26.8 seconds, but through the duration of the second day he had to abandon the rally due to engine trouble.
The Leptos Group sponsored for a second consecutive time Nasser Al-Attiyah who is usually accustomed to being accommodated in the Leptos Groups hotels in Kato Paphos along with his entire crew. He and his crew claim to be fans of our beautiful island.
